Post by: Тоска on September 29, 2010, 19:21
А (A) - Б(B) - Ч(Ç) - Д(D) - Е(E) - Ф(F) -  Г(G) - Х(H) - Ѫ(I-IA) - И(İ) - Ж(J) - К(K)  - Л(L) - М(M) - Н(N) - О(O) - Ѡ(OA-IO)П(P) - Р(R) - С(S) - Ш(Ş) -  Щ(ŞT) - Ц(TS) - Т(T) - У(U) - Ю(YU) - В(V) - Й(Y) - ѣ(YE-EE-İE) - Я(YA) -З(Z) - Ь(YUMUŞATMA)

Exept the letter  Ѡ which is greek, this alphabet is absolutely the same as the alphabet used in Bulgaria before 1946.

Kьой (село) = Kóy (turkish pronunciation = köy) According to me using as KѠй is more meaningful then "ьо" and also ;

(Official bulgarian)

(Rhodope tongues / mostly pomaks)

(Alternative letter)

*********

Kоща ( дом ) : In our speech there exist an unpronounceable letter that is "OA" as "Коаща" Using "Ѡ" instead of "oa" overcomes the pronunciation problem. As i said before i'm not a linguist but these letters which are shown above solving the elided words.

Ѡ is a greek letter which is very hard to pronounce by Slavs. It is wide O but it can't be ЬО. It was used in Cyrillic but in very rare cases as we can see:

"Omega (Ѡ, ѡ) is a letter used in the early Cyrillic alphabet, descended from the Greek omega (Ω, ω).
Unlike Greek, the Slavic languages had only a single /o/ sound, so omega was little used compared to the ordinary letter on, О о, descended from Greek omicron. In the older ustav writing Omega was used mainly for its numeric value of 800, and rarely appeared even in Greek words. In later semi-ustav manuscripts it was used for decorative purposes, along with a broad version (Ꙍ, ꙍ) as well as a broad on (Ѻ, ѻ).
Modern Church Slavonic has developed strict rules for the use of these letterforms."

Don't forget the greek influence upon rhodopes ;) If you make a comment about a thing which need to be confirmed, be care so I'm sure you'll back down after you hear the real voice of "Ѡ"

I know the real voice of "Ѡ", because I have been in Greece and in Rhodopes. I have many relatives in Greece and they speak Greek very very well. Greek influence is very big even in Northern Bulgaria. But this "Ѡ" is very hard to pronounce by Slavs.

i thought as much but for all i care i wanna to add one more letter that is "Ы" so really it has got utility function if you fiddle around with rhodope's vocabulary. You'll realize. Em, That's an indisputable truth so it's our pride ;) Things are seldom what they seem as. May exist obscure letters but it changes person to person. Labializing capacity and environment are the most important factors. For example, Regardless of the fact that i've got slavic roots,  i can speak accentless english, turkish and needless to say bulgarian ;)
